If no one else has told you yet, let me be the first: congratulations! You made it through the year.

2022 brought many difficulties into our lives. We faced problems that tried to beat us down, break us, and make us give up. We fought with anxiety, depression, loneliness, and more. We hurt. We cried. We hated ourselves and wanted to give up.

But despite it all, you’re still here. Because you are stronger than you think.

The world tried to stop you, but you kept going. It was hard, and there were times you didn’t think you could make it. but you did. And you have shown yourself that you can make it. Not just that, but you’ve shown that you will make it.

And I’m proud of you for getting here, even if you tripped along the way.

Take The Compliment

Even though I don’t know your particular circumstance, I know that a lot of you have been through some tough shit, either over the past year or over many years. And I don’t take that lightly. I’ve been through some soul-crushing moments in my life, and it was a struggle to make it from one year to the next.

So when I tell you congratulations and that I’m proud of you for making it, I really mean it. It’s not just an empty phrase I’m throwing out there. I really am proud of you for sticking through the bullshit and making it.

And even if it’s not done yet, if you’re still fighting, know that I’m rooting for you. I know you will win because you made it this far, and you didn’t do all this just to give up.

Take The Encouragement

I understand that this time of year isn’t easy for some. It can be pretty challenging, and you may not be feeling good about things. You might still be fighting against some serious problems in your life, and that’s OK. It doesn’t mean you’re losing. It means the fight isn’t over, but you are winning.

I know you’re winning because you’re still here. You fought your ass off to make it this far. And there may have been times when you didn’t think you’d get here, but you did. And for that, you should be proud.

Even if you don’t see anyone else doing it, know that I am rooting for you. I believe in you, even when others don’t. I believe in you even when you don’t. I know how hard it can be to get up and keep going, but you’ve shown a toughness that others don’t know. There will be challenging days ahead, but they won’t stop you either.

Because you’ve got this.

Take The New Year

I’ve never been one of those people who put a lot of stock in New Year’s resolutions. My whole thing has been “Why wait for the new year? Make your changes now.”

While that is still the way I tend to operate, I do see how important it can be to use the new year as a marker for change. So this year, I’m going to try that, and I encourage you to do the same.

I have a lot of goals in life. Probably too many for one person. But several help me handle my own mental health issues, and they are a majority priority for me. This year, I’ll be working hard to keep them going so I can see myself get better. I want my life to improve so I’m working on kicking things into gear this year. It’s been a long time coming, and a lot of changes are necessary.

I highly recommend you use 2023 to turn things around. It may not be easy, but fixing what was broken isn’t always a simple task. It may take time, but give yourself a chance. You deserve it, and you can do it.

Take Your Life Back

As I’ve said many times in the past, this is your life. It’s time you take it back from whatever monster is trying to control it. The fight may be difficult, but it’s one you can win.

Regardless of the challenges that you face, nothing is unbeatable. Just because you haven’t won yet doesn’t mean you can’t. Your life is worth fighting for. You need to be here. You need to continue. Even if you don’t believe that today, one day, you will. And you will be glad you kept going.
